About the Junior Rifle Program
The Ferry Brook Junior Rifle program runs from September through May each year. Our program consists of weekly practices and 10-15 matches during the season. In addition, many individuals compete on their own through camps or events during the summer. We regularly compete against other junior teams from NH, VT, MA and CT
Some of the more notable matches we compete in are:
- Civilian Marksmanship Club
- USA Shooting
- NRA 3 Position Sectional
- NRA 4 Position Sectional
- NRA Air Rifle Sectional
- Connecticut State Gallery Match
- NH/CCF&G Whistler Boy Tryouts
- New England Regional Matches
- All American Postal Match
- NH Indoor 4 Position Championships
Each summer we send our qualifying athletes to Camp Perry, OH to compete in the National Matches against other junior shooters from across the country.
We participate in the NRA's Marksmanship Qualification Program to provide constant goals and recognition of advancements in improved shooting skills.
During September and October, and again in April and May, we shoot outdoors at the Cheshire County Fish &Game range on Ferry Brook Road in Keene.During the winter months (November-March) we utilize indoor air rifle ranges in Cheshire County on Saturdays at 9:00am
We are always in need of new athletes along with parents to keep the program going. Our team has been most competitive over the past few years due to its depth of participants. Any juniors (age 12-20) interested in checking this out need only to contact Larry Parker Sr. , Larry Parker Jr. or any club director for information.
