There has not been material change in the company since last muster and our camp was moved about two miles from Shelbyville, Tennessee on or about the 20 May 1863. And the 28 June we evacuated Shelbyville and moved to Tullahoma, Tennessee, distance 18 miles and was there in line of battle last mustered.

The officers, most of them, bore themselves gallantly upon the field. Captain Pierre D. Costello and Lieuts. P.H. Smith and Thomas G. Slaughter deserve special mention. Sergeant Scofield captured two flags, and Private Vann was the first at a battery, and took the color-bearer's horse.

List of Casualties in the 25th Alabama Regiment at the Battle of Murfreesboro up to the morning of the 3rd of January.

Above find lists as accurately as could be procured from the regiments on the battlefield. The wounded were taken from the battlefield immediately to the hospital and we have had no chance of seeing them since - hence the character of the wounds in most instances are not given. Several have already died.
