Boat Description

·         Asking price: $200,000.

Sea Hawk is Hull No. 66; built in May 2000. Excellent condition, like new. Lightly raced (11 regattas), fresh water boat. Professionally maintained. Kept in a slip in downtown Chicago during the summer seasons and inside storage for winter. Boat is very stiff and was raced within warranty rig tension settings. Complete set of Ockam instruments and race software (no PC). Bottom VC underwater epoxy painted and sanded to 600 grit in 2001.

If you are new to Farr40's, these boats are extremely fast, in both light and heavy air. Upwind acceleration is the fastest I've ever experienced. Downwind it's a scream. The harder is blows, the faster you go. It's "the" boat for great sailboat racing, especially in local Chicago Farr40 Fleet. In the 2000 Chicago to Mackinac race, Voo Doo (Farr40) lead the Santa Cruz 70's up until greys reef; now that's fast! The Farr40's placed first, second and third, overall in IMS division.

If you plan to keep the boat in Chicago, you will enjoy great local racing in a large fleet. The section is well organized. We race strict one-design rules which are championed by the Farr40 International Association Executive Committee (http://www.farr40.org).A number of Farr40s will do the Harbor Springs Regatta, on the way back from the Mackinac Island race. This year we'll have a 5 race regatta in Holland, Michigan.
