Our gigs....

We are available for a diverse selection of performances, we can even combine fire performance with non-fire instruction for your gathering.  Contact us about your needs and our fee schedule.  Also, we sometimes perform for charity events for gratis.  Some of our past events include:

  • Masquerage is an AID's benefit of the Ohio AIDs Resource Center.  In 2005 the event raised 100,000 for local AIDs patients needs and 2006 and 2007 were even bigger and we were featured performers for all three years and have been invited back for October '08!   In 2006, this event took place in a huge 100 year old barn at the Fairgrounds, the inside had been magically transformed, we especially loved performing with Dayton Contemp Dance Co (DCDC), Sleepybird, RUBI Girls, Mu Crew and ESPECIALLY the amazing SMAG dance troop who we hope to 'play' with again soon! The event included several dance companies, bands, Chicago DJ with LOTS of dancing, Male and Female nude body paint models, LOT'S of food and drink from many sponsors and an Art Auction.  We did five performances in several locations. We were in two locations outside for the first and last hours; we had two main stage performances, the first one with pair’s choreography first of Jessica with Robyn doing a goddess-like sensuous dance with a lot stuff on their knees; then Pan with Andrea finishing with their close-in-body-contact-mirror-each-other routine, including their new beard burner while laying on each other's back; both pairs all done to some very cool Junglebeat-Club-Rap by Brent Lewis!  Then we were in the 140 dollar Red Ribbon Lounge, where all the performances there were of a more, well....sensual theme (especially by SMAG, their rolling on the floor pairs dance just made you weak in the knees). Robyn, Lara, Jessica and Andrea were on a low, long and thin stage along the wall with two flaming palms each while Astrea wriggled about on the floor in front of them with her fire fingers, which burned beautiful bright green! The four with palms were kept lit by Terry/Ari switching off newly soaked palms. After Astrea burned out, Pan took her spot with his floating ball 'o fire in a very slow hypnotic dance, at one point we thought he was going to eat the ball, see the pictures!  Then for our second Main Stage performance, Astrea, Lara, Terry and Ari performed their four person wild extravaganza including laying on top of each other, all to Gnarls Barkley's version of "Crazy." It was fun and crazy!  Eventually, Jessica and Andrea joined them with fire palms, Astrea had switched to a lit umbrella (yes, a lit umbrella), Lara to a staff, and the boys a second set of poi, 6 choreographed together.... did I say it was crazy?  At 1am as people were leaving, we were back outside in two spots again. Anyway, we've been invited back next year and will look forward all year to returning!  Much, much, MUCH thanks to our regular team safeties, Chris, Chris, Willow and Dagon/Gary! Also, special thanks to our guest Danielle of Pyrokinetica who helped us with our make-up, by being a Safety at all our inside performances and also performing during our two outside performance times, thanks lil' fire sister!  Masquerage 2007 was on October 20th at The Merc, downtown Dayton; location for '08 TBA.

We have performed for the Spring and Fall bi-annual "Urban Nights," the last three years; we're hired by "Culture Works" and the Dayton Downtown Business Asso. The event is all over downtown Dayton and includes five stages, an art walk and a huge diversity of performers! Click HERE to see 3 pics on the Dayton Daily News web site of us performing in the Oregon District! We were featured on page 4a of the DDN's 9/16 edition, cool us, huh? We'll be back for this in the Spring and Fall of '08.

  • 2005 and 2006 Yellow Springs Blues Festival

  • We're currently teaching a beginning poi and hooping class, we're meeting behind Mills Lawn School on Wed's from 7p to 8p.

  • We've also performed at several weddings, one class reunion, a political fund-raiser, charity events, festivals and several other gatherings and  parties.

. The Funky Bean Farm (aka: Brother Bear's Coffee), located almost 4 miles north of Yellow Springs, has band parties on a frequent basis.  Five to eight  bands play on their two stages set up inside two barns, over two days, they have a bonfire, food and camping available as well.  We've been performing at their gigs about once a month.  Some bands have included: Boombox, Paul's Apartment, Skeleton Crew, John Welton, FREAKBASS, Groove Therapy and too many more to list here.  Google them to find their next event or email us.

On Sept 15th, 2007, we performed for the Miami Twp Fire Rescue's 100th Year Celebration, which included three bands, fire and rescue demos, food and a landing of Careflight.

On May 17th, 2008, we performed for The Circus (an artists' promotion organization in Dayton's Oregon Dist)'s "Sideshow," their annual visual and performing art extravaganza, this year at The Merc, which is a wonderful old warehouse that's been converted into a performance venue on East 3rd Street.
