in 1861 Birmingham Small Arms is formed "to manufacture guns by machinery". In 1906, the first motorcycles are produced. At its zenith, the plant covers 1,142,000 square feet and employs 12,000. By 1977, the Small Heath factory is demolished and it's molds are destroyed. |
