With this technique you can make any size or condition of teeth you need. If you have a toothy skull you can use it as
a guide.
The idea.
You make the entire upper or lower set of dentures at one time then glue them into place before they dry.
step one ( for this demo we’ll make the upper set first.)
Make a roll out of bread clay long enough to fit inside the jaw. Flatten this out thinner in the middle ( for the front
teeth ) and thicker at the ends for the molars. The idea is to have clay to sculpt the teeth with wile leaving a flat area
at the bottom to glue to the skull. ( in this case the top because we’re working on the upper chops.)
Start in the middle and cut the front two teeth. Remember the idea is to have the teeth but still have a solid flat area
above them to glue to the jaw. Now using the knife cut the rest of the teeth where you want them. Sculpt the teeth by smoothing
out the ruff edges. This process doesn’t have to be perfect and it’s easier than you think to do. Your end result
with be a custom made ‘denture’ plate for the upper jaw. When you have them the way you like use a good epoxy
( I like clear Liquid nails.) and glue the tooth plate into place. Make the bottom plate.
Try making the teeth longer, crooked, rotten, some missing or anything that will give your corpse some mouthy character.
Tip
Easiest way to smooth out all the cut lines and ruff areas is to press the clay with a smooth
object. Bread clay is really forgiving and super easy to work with. And this stuff lasts for years. I have bread clay figures
that I did back in 1995 that look as good today as when they were new.
