There are two techniques for applying this type of ‘flesh’. Both give distinct looks and texture
to your prop. Both use the same materials but if you substitute toilet paper for the second one you’ll get better results.
NEEDED THINGS
Paper mache’ glue. Our Ultimate or any one you like.
Snot rags. Kleenex, Puffs, any two-ply tissue will work.
Something to corpse.
Optional large foam or paint brush
Prepping your object for corpsing.
If you intend to ‘corpse’ an object made of plastic or foam you’ll need to prep it first. Cover the areas
intended to be ‘fleshed’ with cheap duct tape. The paper mache’ glue will stick to the cloth on the tape.
An Idea for you blow mold skeleton users!
Cover the skeleton with aluminum foil or news paper first. You can preserve the ‘bony’ look using aluminum
foil. Use duct tape to hold the covering in place as you work. NOTE don’t stick the tape to the skeleton. Only to the
foil or paper covering it. If needed use news paper to fill around the base of the ribs and spine. Cover all of the foil or
news paper with a layer of duct tape. With sharp pointed scissors cut this ‘skin’ off your skeleton and stuff
it with news paper. Tape all the cut areas back together as you stuff. Now you have a ‘body double’. Have fun,
make more than one! If your just doing corpse heads please see my ‘Skulls’ page.
Below are the two techniques for snot raging. Each has a picture showing the finished results.

| Yes! the teeth are cardboard. Who's going to notice in the dark? |
Snot rag 1...the stringy stretched look. Classic snot rag mache’.
The photo above illustrates the ‘stringy’ look of this technique.
Step One Dip your tissue in your chosen paper mache’ glue to get it completely wet. Place
this on the body. Do the same till it’s all covered.
Step Two Let dry. As the snot rags dry you’ll get even more of the stringy look.
A word of causion. This is a VERY messy project. Best to have something under your prop to catch all the drips.

Snot rag 2 Smoother but well textured look.
I prefer using toilet paper for this one. Gives a better look. It’s also easier with a large spong brush.
Step one Tear off a wad of toilet paper so you end up with it four of five layers thik in the
palm of your hand. Dip the spong brush in your paper mache’ glue or pure some on the paper. Work this through till you
get a flat soaked patty. Place this on your corpse. Repete till coverd.
Step two Let dry.
Why two looks? Because variety is the spice of life!
