BURNETT 3RD ANNUAL BAZAAR
SATURDAY, MARCH 28, 2009

Burnett is holding their annual bazaar.  Please come out and support our local schools!

New Public High School - One Way in and One Way Out!!!!

The Tampa Tribune recently reported that the school district plans to close off Newsome Road at McIntosh (between 7-Eleven and Burger King).

School system planning managers report they will be putting in turn signals at the intersections of Gallagher Rd & Hwy 92 and McIntosh & Hwy 92.

If this occurs, it will leave only one way in and out of the new high school via Gallagher Rd at Hwy 92 which is just east of McIntosh Rd. McIntosh Road is not scheduled for any improvements/widening through 2025 (County Rd.) and Highway 92 is not planned for widening through 2017 and remains and UNFUNDED project for the State of Florida.

COMING SOON!
GROUND HAS BROKEN FOR NEW SEFFNER-MANGO LIBRARY  --
WE'RE HOPING THE PARK WILL BE NEXT

thumb_proposed_seffner_library3.jpg
If you travel Kingsway you may have noticed that ground has broken on the site of the new Seffner-Mango Library.  While us "old timers" are sad to see some of the property being developed, we are pleased to have it go to use for a library rather than high density apartments.  Staff has indicated they hope to have the new library open by year's end.

Our new library will have a science lab which has been made possible by an area resident who will equipping the lab.  This is a huge donation and one that will make our library a stand-out from others.

We hope to see many of you there and don't forget to support the Seffner-Mango Friends of the Library.  They are working hard to make this library one of the best!

GROUND BREAKING CEREMONIES
February 14, 2008  --  10 a.m.

Site located on Kingsway Ave. between Hwy 92 and Old Hillsborough Ave. just north of Lopez Elementary School.

SCA continues to work with our County Representatives and staff in hopes of seeing the balance of this property used for a neighborhood park.  We are hoping that the park will be passive in nature so that we have a quiet place to walk, play and mingle with our neighbors in a relaxed atmospher.  We continue to work toward that end and it is possible that we may recieve funding in the next few months.  We are hoping to receive funding from the 40 million dollars which had been set aside for Championship Park.   Please take a few minutes and e-mail Commissioner Hagan and let him know you support funding for this park and you would like it to remain a passive park as originally discussed.   Your support is appreciated.

It's YOUR Community Plan!
