I have bought so many different combs and brushes to groom my cats with over the years. The best I have found so far is a good slicker brush. Don't waste your money buying the cheapest ones as they break quite easily. I found a decent one for around $10.00 and it works great. The cats love being brushed with it to. . 

My laundry room is where I keep my cats food, water and litterbox. Several times today when I went in the room, I was followed by my cat Sealy. She started acting rather bizarre crying in a very loud voice,and looking at me with wide open eyes as though she wanted to tell me something. Later that evening my husband observed her behavior and immediately picked up on what was wrong.

 

As Sealy was wailing she had circled a container of unopened pool chlorine several times.We removed the chlorine and now she is happy.

 

I did a search on cats and chlorine to find out why the chlorine bothered her so bad. (Considering the fact that the container was still sealed.) I found out that even the chlorine in fresh tap water irritates sesitive parts of a cats nose. It is recomended that the water sit for 24 hours before giving it to a cat. So the chlorine must have been irritating my poor kittys. And Sealy being the spokesman for the group got the problem solved.

I have tried so many cat litters over the years,and so far I have had the best luck with Fresh Step scoopable litter.It lasts much longer,is more absorbant and has better odor control than the other leading brands I have tried. If anyone out their has multiple cats and knows of a better litter please let me know. |

As a child I was often told that animals lacked souls so therefore they would not be going to heaven. The thought of not seeing my beloved pets again devastated me. Broken hearted, I shed many tears.

 

Today I believe much differently.From my own personal experience I have no doubt animals have souls.

 

In my mid 20's I had a brief out-of-body experience. I will never forget the fear I felt as I looked down upon my body lying on the bed. Later on as I looked back on the experience I realized that my emotional self was part of my spiritual body. Not my physical. Animals are also emotional creatures.. So if emotions are part of the soul than I believe animals also must have souls.

 

Are there animals in heaven. Besides numerous refernces to angels riding horses, Isa 65:25 says  The wolf and the lamb shall feed together and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpents meat.

 

Another reason I know in my heart that I will see my beloved pets again is because, God is our father. He loves us more than we love our own children. Would we deny our children of seeing their beloved pets again? No! And and I don't believe God would either.

Rainbow my 6 year old Calico Van was spayed last year at the age of five. After being spayed she became quite lazy. Now after a year she is back to her old self again. Once again running around like a kitten and having a great time. So apparently spaying her at a later time must have slowed down her recovery rate tremedously. I'm just glad that shes finally back to her old self.

With springtime so close I decided to go ahead and shave my cats. I gave two of my persians a lion cut. And one a line cut. They look so cute and they actually seem to enjoy being so much lighter.

 

I started underneath and worked my way up the sides. With Rainbow I stopped halfway up her sides and than just thinned the hair on top. The other two I came all the way around . I left their manes ,tails and legs unshaved.

I did decide to trim the mane on one of the cats, because she would get it so wet every time she drank water. I did this by combing the hair upwards and than used the clippers to trim the ends. She stays much cleaner now. If you have a persian I would definately reccomend this around spring time. Now, I will be able to spend more time in the garden and less time cleaning up cat hair!
