Large Munsterlanders

At almost 8 years old, Gus does an amazing job finding and holding birds.  He has a very thorough search pattern, a stylish/ intense point, and as Dick has readily admitted, is a far better water dog than his GSP ever was.

Gus’s hunting desire borders on ridiculous.  The minute he sees or smells anything related to hunting (i.e. Dick puts his boots on or gets a gun out) Gus carries on like he’d been hit by a lightening bolt.

Gus has matured into a truly awesome hunting companion.

At home, his favorite spot is on the couch with his head on mom's lap (or better yet IN mom's lap).  He hasn't quite figured out that he's a LARGE Munsterlander (keyword being large at 70 lbs)!

Bringing it back.

Come quick.  There's a bird in this bush!
Besides being best buddies, Gus (right) and Alli (left) became hunting partners in 2005.  Dick was pleasantly surprised when they both turned out to be natural backers.
