For those that have been around crystals and collected for a while the difference between Cathedral and Elestial is like the difference between a Dow crystal and a Faden crystal. I even saw a well known eBay merchant calling a Diamantina Laser a "elestial cathedral" crystal. It is confusing till you are spending hundreds of dollars and not getting what you later learn you really wanted.
This new to me specimen is a good illustration of an Elestial crystal that has grow into a Cathedral! Notice how the main point is most of the whole crystal. I tried to show the face with natural patterns that have not been polished. Notice how the castellated crystals have grown over the main tip making it a Cathedral where it was an Elestial prior to this when the single tip was the tallest point.

Cathedrals are a rare form of Quartz crystal. These crystals must have inspired architects to create turreted castles and cathedrals. Watch out for the lightbrary Cathedrals. The term Lightbrary translates to "Libraries of Light"
Cathedral Quartz crystals are named after their shape. They look like mini castles! These crystals like ours have been referred to as Cathedrals for many decades. Clear/Quartz Cathedrals are referred to as Lightbrary Cathedrals.
These crystals have doorways in them, more often than not, in their castling definition. To travel into the crystal, just gaze into the doorway, you will see it open and your consciousness will be drawn into the crystal. From there you can travel into different chambers and receive information that you are ready for at that time. You can also travel in inner and outer space in complete safety within the crystal. Cathedral crystals are very rare, which is why you will rarely see them
This view is from the back to show the growth of the
castellation and a dark spot where there is some kind of inclusion.
The light is coming from the side window, see how she picks up the
light and how clear the "spires" are compared to the main crystal
point.

This side view shows the size of the main crystal point, still
picking up the light and showing some of the doors. You can see the
divide between the main crystal and the spires. Also, notice the dark
line that raises in the back showing previous growth. I wonder what
makes the difference?

This is a much smaller cathedral but none the less extremely clear so it must be a "lightbrary" It is about 4.5" long and 2" wide. Fits in my hand when meditating.

I have been carrying this Tibetan Cathedral Lightbrary around for years. it's got the fantastic light coming forth and a doorway which is also known in lightbraries. It had a matte finish when I got it and wasn't much to look at; an "old warrior" I call it. Yet, it really is comforting to hold. It has horizontal gruves going around 3/4's of the way in the same plane near the bottom as if it was once fastened to a staff. A perfect place for wrappings. Hummmmmmmm? Anyway it's become a very close friend. I thought it was smoky when I got it but after carrying it for so long the matte finish came off an it's bright light ever since.
