I met Bill through his wonderful and enlightening web site. His experience with Quartz crystals goes back over 30 years. During that time he has gathered a fantastic collection. He is also selling, on consignment through his site, some of the largest specimens available today.
These are a very few of his favorites from his personal collection;

NAME
Stalactite Forest
TYPE
Brazilian quartz stalactites overgrown on calcite stalactites
SIZE
48" high
29" wide
18" deep
600 pounds
DESCRIPTION
This unusual treasure comes from the mines of mysterious Brazil. Unlike most quartz specimens, this one forms true stalactites (grown from the ceiling of a cave, and all in parallel.)
The original formation was from drip-type calcite stalactites, also called "soda straws." A secondary growth of quartz crystallized around the existing straws, to form multifaceted, shimmering rows of crystals. Inside the clear crystals are tiny blooms of cacoxinite, a dark gold mineral.
An impressive presence when standing up, the Stalactite Forest looks like a city or forest of crystals when displayed flat.

NAME
Amazonia
TYPE
Amazonite with quartz and tourmaline
SIZE
35 inches wide
24 inches tall
225 pounds
DESCRIPTION
I like to call this stone "Amazingite!" It is a truly amazing beauty. Deepest blue amazonite (from the Amazon River basin) highlights the yard-wide piece. While it looks like many conjoined crystals, it is in fact, one large totally natural crystal slab exhibiting parallel twinning.
A delicate grid-work of white quartz dusts the front. The sides of the facets are covered by thousands of tiny, perfect, black tourmaline crystals. What a lovely color combination! All three minerals are silica based, and would work well together as a special Feng Shui piece, to balance the energy of a large home or building.
Displayed vertically, it represents an Oriental mountain shape of great detail and beauty.
When displayed horizontally, it looks like a surreal desert scene of sparking mesas and canyons.

10" deep
138 pounds

This is one of Brazil's finest citrine gemstones. This large polished specimen is mostly ice clear golden citrine with many refractory rainbows inside. The rainbows are natural holograms, that appear (and disappear!) in a variety of shapes and colors, depending on the viewing angle.

The Chinese people say that gold is the best energetic color for prosperity, wealth and good fortune.

NAME
Magnifico
TYPE
Clear quartz, Brazilian cluster
SIZE
31 inches wide
33 inches deep
454 pounds
DESCRIPTION
This large, perfectly formed cluster was one of the top pieces mined in Brazil in 2003. This new mine is producing some of the world's best crystals at this time. All the crystal points are large and well-formed. There is no matrix stone (sandstone) on the piece, so it lights up from the bottom. Large, glittery facets cover the grouping from side to side. It can be displayed horizontally, or vertically.

Amethyst Royale
TYPE
Brazilian amethyst geode
SIZE
6 feet 7 inches tall
1200 pounds

The walls of this geode contain over 1,000 pounds of gem quality amethyst crystals, deep purple in color. The amethyst flows into an extremely strong agate shell, coated with ancient copper compounds.
From the back, the geode looks like a statue of Mother Mary (Michelangelo's Pieta). Mother Mary's energy surrounds the amethyst with an embracing love. You can snuggle INSIDE her love! It's an amethyst womb This Museum quality piece is one of the world's finest, and displays the unusual talent of allowing you INSIDE the crystal.
You can use this geode as an energy amplifier with the accompanying set of giant crystal singing bowls. The deep tones of the bowls create a resounding OM frequency when you sit inside the royal purple cave. Every cell in your body vibrates to the powerful tones amplified by the crystal cave. You will feel the crystal's energy fully! A magical, long lasting experience, with beneficial health effects on many levels.

NAME
The Crystal Cross
TYPE
Clear Arkansas Quartz cluster
SIZE
20 inches tall
20 inches deep
180 pounds
DESCRIPTION
The world's largest, most perfect natural cross, was discovered in 1978. It is pure, clear silica, excavated from Arkansas' most prestigious crystal mine- Blocker Lead #7.
The Crystal Cross formed naturally in the earth, according to geological analysis, around 188,000,000 years ago. It has remained in near perfect condition since then. The Crystal cross is 18" high and 18" wide. It floats on the end of an exquisite cluster, formed by many clear crystals. There is no "matrix rock" or sandstone- a single light bulb illuminates the entire piece, through and through. There is a mysterious cave on the bottom, also lined with perfect crystals.
The Cross shape has been a religious and mystical symbol for thousands of years. Prior to Christianity, the cross represented the quartering of the world into the four elements of earth, air, fire, and water. Interestingly, these are the four elements that geologically formed the crystal:
Earth- magmatic molten rock
Fire- volcanic heat
Water- dissolved in the magma as a catalyst (also called Super
Critical Aqueous Fluid)
Air (and gases)- incorporated to form the silica molecules (SiO2).
"Crystal" Bill has his own style of showing off his personal collection, we feel the Crystal Guild is fortunate to have someone with the decades of experience and such large specimens. Every collector has their very special specimens, not as large as these, maybe, but just as loved and enjoyed. Bill has a commercial web site where you can see more of his "collection": <http://www.elegantcrystals.com/index.html>
