Kashmir Mountains Crystals

K2, the second highest mountain in the world. Azad (Pakistani side) Kashmir.

This 10 1/2" Kashmir Mountain Wand is spectacular! I found it in a Gem and Mineral show in Costa Mesa, Californian. You might have been there? I paid a lot for this specimen but with it's history and rarity I felt it was a good buy. This was Subjective. I watch crystal sales on eBay and have never seen anything like this.

The story was told to me by the merchant from Pakistan I bought this from:

" There are two prices for Kashmir Mountain crystals. One at the top of the mountain and the other at the bottom". I ask him why? and he related to me how he had gambled and lost!

" They mine these crystals by hand in the Summer in Pakistan, in the Kashmir Mountains at 16,000 foot elevation! They wait for a good snowfall and shove them off the cliff and they take a tumble to the elevation of the village!"

So, when you buy at the top you get a good deal. When you pay at the bottom you get what's survived. Evidently the merchant had bought a huge 1 ton crystal in matrix and it didn't make the trip to the bottom of the mountain. Many do not due to rocks encountered on the way down or "each other!"

This particular crystal was coated with a white chalk substance on the top portion. The tip was Chloride included with a soft green glow. The middle was black coating that came off with slight chipping. The bottom had a large matrix portion attached. I tapped it and it fell off with a shower of "VOLCANIC SAND!" I couldn't believe it! I saved the piece and have looked at it closely. This crystal is still showing the Volcanic birth matrix. These are wild! I was torn as to weather to "mess" with this crystal or not. I decided I would be going crazy wanting to "see the quartz with inclusions" that it had to offer. The natural crystal was beautiful but you couldn't handle the quartz, feel anything. I held the crystal on the 2 hr. drive home and realized I was holding the matrix and coatings and not in contact with the crystal at all. After exposing some it gave me a "shock!" I am not kidding.

Rope bridge. Typical en-route to the Kashmir mines.

These Crystals have "history." Can you imagine getting to the mine? The Pakistani miners are a hearty lot I am sure and they, like the Tibetan crystals that came over the Himalayas on the back of Yak's are very special.

This specimen I found the same day I went to the Costa Mesa Gem and Mineral show! It has the matte finish like the Lemurian's you are all familiar with. Note the horizontal striations. The difference is they go all the way round, in a band/circle the crystal! Very unusual, as if the crystal grew in horizontal layers instead of from the center outward from point to base! I don't understand but it's wild to see.

Zojila pass cutbacks. The only road connecting Kashmir's East and West.

This is the "other" crystal I bought 2 hr. from going to the Costa Mesa Gem and Mineral show! It is over 5.5 inches long and has a white coating, calcite. I haven't received mine yet but the large one had the same coating on the tip and was incased on the bottom lava matrix. I couldn't let it go. Please forgive me, the more stringent crystal "purist". Believe me, I am getting much more when I am in touch with the quartz and it's electrical charge. I feel it is natural with no polishing, just removing some deposits to touch the quartz.

This is the route to the mountains. Note the very small people in the bottom left corner of the above photo. That is what the "locals" have to go through to get the "kashmirians" to market.

This Alpine meadow is a beautiful pace to hike through or in the case of the local's it, home. I would like to go there some day and see the big "crystal slide" down 16,000 feet to the bottom.

Now, you are probably wondering why I am so "keen" on these particular crystals? Well, I have a feeling they are very special and are so new they haven't been written about by the known "Divas" of the crystal world. I am not able to "channel" or read these crystals, I am just passing on the my fellow collectors my "gut" feelings on a very I hesitate to use the word "powerful". The rest is for your examination. It is my feeling they are of the Lemurian decent, very rare indeed.

Please get back to me with your experiences. at: crystalsailor@sbcglobal.net Sorry I can't make it automatic as I get so much spam I will ask you to copy and paste this in an email to me. Thanks.
