The Halaby Preserve was formerly owned by Bridgeport Hydraulic Company and was donated in 2001 to the Town of
Trumbull by Janet Hansen, President of Aquarion Inc. First Selectman Kenneth S. Halaby then gave the beautiful 27 acres to
the Trumbull Land Trust to be preserved in perpetuity. In July of 2002 the preserve was dedicated to Mr. Halaby, the founder
of the Trumbull Land Trust in 1988.
This beautiful property has a mature tree canopy with streams, wetland, rocky outcropping, stone walls and a
wealth of wildlife. State of Connecticut biologist noted that it is a nesting habitat for woodthrush, ovenbirds, and pileated
woodpeckers as well as numerous other species.
