Roadmap to Unity

  • All members are expected to treat each other with kindness and respect.
  • All members are expected to participate in the group, and contribute to the planning and implementing of group projects/activities.
  • All members are expected to rsvp to events they plan to attend, and to notify the event planner if they cannot follow thru.
  • All members are expected to pay any fees for trips and such in a timely manner to the planner of the trip.
  • All members are expected to respect the arrival and start times of all activities.
  • All members will strive to see and bring out the best in each other and all the children of the group.
  • All members shall refrain from judgement and comparison among the children.  ie... language which is meant to point out how smart, advanced, or in any other way "superior" any one child is to the other children.

The Unity Homeschool parents will model appropriate relationship building and friendship making skills to all the children.  We will teach tolerance and acceptance and seek to find win-win solutions to conflicts which arise.  We do this with a spirit of cooperation and respect for all involved.

The ground rules:

  • Divisive play will not be tolerated.  This includes games such as "boys against the girls", "we don't like little kids", and "we have a club and you're not in it".
  • Aggressive or overly competitive play will not be tolerated.  We're here to be friends, not hurt each other.  This includes stick play at the park, or "I beat you!! I beat you!!".
  • Hurtful words and name calling will not be tolerated.
  • In general, if it's mean or hurts another person physically, or emotionally, it won't be tolerated.
