Welcome to my instrument building web site. 

I have been building custom instruments of my own design as well as those of Sam Rizzetta's design for over twenty years.  While they are not for everyone, they represent some of the finest instruments available today,  reflecting years of building and design research.  They are designed to meet the needs of the most demanding player.

I regret the fact that I no longer make starter instruments, but there are many good introductory instruments already on the market.

Look through this site thoroughly, it has a lot of information on the instruments I build, most of which is directly copied from the information in my brochure.

My time mostly has to be spent building, in order to keep customers content,  but  I'll be glad to answer specific questions about my instruments as quickly as I can, and other questions eventually.

The links page included in this site connects you to many websites where you may find more information and answers to all of your questions; especially on buying instruments, finding a teacher, festivals, concerts and other events.

I don't have a retail store, but customers interested in visiting the workshop to try the instruments are welcome to visit by appointment.   A good place to see a lot of these instruments built over the years is at the Upper Potomac Dulcimer Fest, two festivals held locally in March and September and more recently, the Irish Music Weekend, Fiddle Retreat and other special events.
