Welcome to Alan G. Miller's Home Page

This is my home page and is currently under a slow phase of construction, but then again isn't every web page always under constant change? If you are interested in photography, I would suggest you go to the Sawtooth Center for Visual Art's Photography Department course listing and see what classes will be offered in the future. I would even suggest looking around there, since you never know what class you will find offered at the Sawtooth. I was once the photography coordinator for 'the tooth' and am currently a photography instructor specializing in Cibachrome/Ilfochrome printing, I am still interested in teaching others about the methodes and processes I know.

My main focus now is as an Underwater Photographer, but living in Winston-Salem, NC does not get me to the ocean very often. If you would like to see some of my underwater photographs I finally have a few digitized for you to see. These first 4 are straight scans of the Kodachrome film I shot in a Nikonos V.

Diver and Reef

Anemone

Australian Reef

Reef Shark

These Last 3 images have been altered in some form with the computer and Photoshop. I was a student in a Photoshop class when I did these. The class has really given me some great ideas for things I can do to my images digitally, these are just the beginning....

School

Wreck with enhanced colors

It might have happened, I just wasn't there!

With my spare time I do photography for other artists needing slides of their 2D and 3D work. I have done everything from jewelry to woven jackets. Soon I will have a larger page with more of my underwater photographs on the web! In the mean time if you are in the area check out my studio at 625 Trade Street in the Downtown Winston-Salem Arts District. Or go to DADA's site!. Stop down some time for a 'Gallery Hop' and find out what is new in the Arts district. Sorry you missed my show in The Nature Gallery in the Museum Store at The NC Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, NC between July 20, 2001 and September 2, 2001.

Here is a list of photos of the old cabin my wife, Sarah, her brother Rob, and I are in the process of buying. OK, we have had it a few years now and it looks nothing like the photos. I will need to show the new bathroom and the windows we put in on the porch. It's livable now.... It is on about 5.6 acre along the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Mountains near Fancy Gap, VA just above 3000' and has a great southeast view back towards the Piedmont of NC.

Well now I have some of my own Underwater Photographs on my home page and will be adding some of my favorite links to other great places, like Low End Mac which is a great place for information on any computer ever made by Apple

Or someplace like eBay truly the place you can find anything!

See what I'm selling on eBay now!

Thanks for stopping by! And try another time to see how I have progressed

Or just email me with any questions you might have.
