About Spicewood Arts Society   Spicewood Arts Society is a not-for profit organization, founded in 2000, open to anyone with an interest in the musical, visual or literary arts.
The mission of the Spicewood Arts Society is to promote the performing, visual and literary arts in the Spicewood community. Activities supporting this mission include:
  • Four live musical performances will be held this year as they have for several years.
  • Support programs in local School Districts to promote art education.
  • Contributed support to the Marble Falls High School Band trip to Carnegie Hall in 2004
  • Sponsored the Arts Round-Up since 2003
  • Sponsored a live interactive program for students at the Spicewood Elementary School by the Austin Chamber Center's Sapphyre Quartet
   
Goals of the Arts Round-Up 2006   This is the fourth year for the Arts Round-Up, featuring regional fine artists. The goals for the Arts Round-Up are:
  • to provide the Spicewood community with an opportunity to view and purchase fine visual art, and communicate with the artists
  • to provide regional fine artists the opportunity to show and sell their work with reasonable commissions
  • to invite high school art students (LTISD, Marble Falls ISD) to submit work for inclusion in the Arts Round-Up 2006.
  • to raise funds to support the mission of the Spicewood Arts Society, specifically this year, the net profits will benefit the educational and community outreach efforts.
   
The Art   The fourth Arts Round-Up will feature superb hill country artists. These artists work in wood; metal; pottery; paintings with oil, pastels and watercolors; photography; pen & ink drawings, colored pencil drawing; collage; jewelry; and stained glass

   
Preview Party Under the Stars   The festival will kick-off with a reception and live auction on Friday, October 20 at 6:00 PM. At this event, the artists will show their works and be available to discuss their craft with the guests. At 8:00 PM a piece of work from each artist will be auctioned for the benefit of the Spicewood Arts Society. Tickets will be sold for hors d'oeuvres and there will be a cash bar and background music. Location of the Arts Round-Up   Look for our distinctive posters at area merchants. The Arts Round-Up will be held at 25325 Tx Hwy 71 in Spicewood, Tx on October 20-22, 2006, Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM until 5 PM. The site is located in a beautiful oak grove on the grounds of the old Paleface Ranch headquarters.
The grounds are opposite Paleface Ranch Road, that is 2.2 miles west of the Hwy 71 / Pace Bend Rd (FM2322) intersection and the bridge over the Pedernales River/Lake Travis. Each artist will display his or her art in the renovated horse stalls and under canopies.
Five musical groups will provide entertainment.

$2,000 or more In addition to Gold level benefits:
  • Your business name, and logo on approximately 3000 postcards. Between 750 and 1000 postcards are directly mailed to our mailing list. The remainder are distributed as “take homes” at local businesses and gathering places. Deadline for inclusion on postcards is 8/18/2006.
  • Eight complimentary tickets to the Preview Party Under The Stars.

Gold

$1,000 - $1,999 In addition to Silver level benefits:
  • Inclusion on our advertising posters placed at businesses in the Spicewood, Horseshoe Bay, Marble Falls, Lakeway, and Bee Cave areas. Deadline for inclusion on these posters is 8/18/2006
  • Three posters dedicated solely to your business during the Arts Round-Up
  • Acknowledgment of your support during the introduction of each musical act on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Four complimentary tickets to the Preview Party Under The Stars.

Silver

$500 - $999 In addition to Bronze level benefits:
  • Your business name and location will be listed on "Silver level" posters at the gate and two locations during the Arts Round-Up.
  • Two complimentary tickets to the Preview Party Under The Stars.

Bronze

$250 - $499 In addition to Basic level benefits:
  • A link from our web site to yours
  • Your business name and location listed on "Bronze Level" posters posted at the gate and in one other location during the Arts Round-Up.
  • One complimentary ticket to the Preview Party Under The Stars.

$100 - $249
  • Your business recognized as a sponsor on our "Sponsor" poster at the gate

Silent Auction Donations  

Would you like to donate an item to the Spicewood Arts Society for auction at the Arts Round-Up?

Almost any product can make an interesting donation - a tank of gas, a manicure, a night in a hotel, a tennis lesson - all great items. Each item will be auctioned via a silent auction on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A small poster with your business name, logo, location, a picture if appropriate, will be displayed along with the item or its description for the entire weekend. The winners will not need to be present to win.
   
Publicity Plans  
  • We will be mailing postcards to our entire mailing list.
  • Invitations to the Arts Round-Up opening reception will be mailed to our donors and season ticket holders.
  • Posters will be distributed to area merchants and organizations
  • Roadside banners will be placed at strategic locations in the area
  • Our web site (WWW.ArtsRoundup.ORG) will be the most current source of information about the reception.
  • Press releases have been provided and printed in area newspapers, and more will be sent in subsequent weeks
  • Paid advertisements will be posted in area newspapers during the week prior to the Arts Round-Up
  • We have submitted the event to the community calendars of publications, organizations, and broadcast media
   
About Spicewood, TX   Perhaps Spicewood is best defined by its zip code, 78669, and is located in the Texas Hill Country approximately 25 miles from Austin, Marble Falls and Johnson City. In addition to many large ranches, it includes a large stretch of Lake Travis shoreline and the Pedernales River, lined with permanent and vacation homes. It is the home of many talented artists and musicians. Within the last few years several up-scale housing developments have begun, including West Cypress Hills, Double Horn, Granite Ridge, Barton Creek Lakeside, in addition to the well established community of Briarcliff, resulting in a rapid increase in population and businesses. It is serviced by the Lake Travis Independent School District and the Marble Falls Independent School District.
