Paul Lawrence Price, originally a native of Louisiana, has been a Los Angeles resident for over 15 years. He began his designs while touring England and the US with Liverpudian rock band, Echo and Bunnymen. A mutual friend of the band and Paul began doing rubbings from different cities he visited during each tour.
After settling in Los Angeles, he began producing mostly street designs from manhole covers and other items that gave Paul a good base to work from. Eventually producing the actual stars themselves from the Walk of Fame. Contacting the licensing company for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and the Walk of Fame was the next step. They were very excited about the idea and quality of work and gave Paul the go ahead to start producing them commercially.
