These issues retain the use of block numbers and control numbers but combine the date (year) and country code letter. The 10000 franc issue carries only a code letter with no year of issue. Many of these notes are quite scarce simply because they were overlooked at the time of issue and never brought out for collectors. I know of only 3-4 examples of the 1980 Niger 5000 francs below. These notes will carry signature combinations 11-24. This series has numerous examples where two or even three different signature combinations exist for a given date.
