Welcome and Thank You for VisitingDistrict 1, comprised of portions of Yavapai and Coconino counties, is steeped in rich history and populated by citizens with an adventuresome, pioneering spirit and a respect for those who carved communities from this rugged land. I believe it is important to preserve our heritage, our land, our communities and our liberties. The events of recent years have made it obvious to me that this district and this state desperately need pragmatic public servants with integrity, vision, an unshakeable commitment to the democratic process, and the willingness to take a stand. I am committed to taking a stand for the people of District 1 who make their homes here, raise their children here and spend their golden retirement years here. I am committed to listening to the concerns and ideas of my constituents. I built my businesses by having an “open door” policy and by listening to other’s ideas. Digesting and assimilating the opinions and views presented to me has served me well. An open door policy is what I have always maintained and what I pledge to continue to do. Today, Arizona’s families are facing many challenges. I am concerned that the opportunities so fundamental to my success may not be available for future generations. Providing quality education, universal health care, finding a solution to rampant illegal immigration, cleaning up our environment, and preserving our liberties are issues I believe must be addressed. Although achievement has not been effortless, I am now on the receiving end of countless blessings: a wonderful family, successful businesses, a good life. I believe it is now time for me to give back to my community. I have walked the walk; and I am a person who is willing to do more than simply talk the talk.
