WHAT'S NEW

Mar 16, 2009 We've just posted a new article:  "Ba Shi, the Eight Basic Stances" by Richard Miller.  This seminal article on the Ba Shi, one of the essential buildings blocks of traditional kung fu, was originally published in 1981 and we are very pleased to once again make it available for you to read and download.  Richard Miller teaches in Ann Arbor Michigan.  Visit his website:  http://www.greatlakeswushu.com.

Tribute to Sensei Kensho Furuya of the Aikido Center of Los Angeles.

We are sad to announce that Sensei Kensho Furuya passed away on March 6, 2007.  Although a master in two Japanese martial arts--Aikido and Iaido--he was a member of the Traditional Wushu Association, a friend of many years to Sifu Adam Hsu and a staunch supporter of all traditional arts.  Sifu Adam Hsu has written a tribute to Sensei Furuya.   Helen Hsu, representing her family, delivered a eulogy at the funeral service.

Mar 13, 2007 Sifu Hsu's report, "Wishing you a Bountiful 2007", on the Taiwan's Cultural Award he received last year is now posted.
Feb 29, 2007 Last year, Sifu Adam Hsu was one of four Taiwan artists awarded the government's Culture Award. In accepting the award at the ceremony on November 3rd, Sifu Hsu noted that this is a huge acknowledgement not merely for himself but for traditional Chinese martial arts, a true cultural treasure that previously was not given the same respect as other high-level arts. Check back with us later: we will be publishing Sifu Hsu's report on the award ceremony and the state of wushu today!
Sept 20, 2005 In the articles section we've added the interview with Adam Hsu conducted by Jean Paoli in Decemer of 2002.

This made good sense so we've updated the membership page to link to a downloadable file of the membership application. You will still have to print the file, fill out the form, and mail it with payment to us, but hopefully this will make things easier. Now, there's no excuse to not join up, contribute, or make suggestions!

Also, a new article, You Walk Down the Path, by Richard Miller has been added to our site.
